About the Blazers Team Gloucester Blazers

What we are about

Kaylum.jpgOur Aim is to provide a safe and welcoming environment for those with a disability, particularly those individuals whose disability creates mobility problems and who want to participate in sport.

All training takes place under the supervision of qualified and experienced coaches who have gained their skills by ‘hands on’ involvement and who hold a British Wheelchair Basketball coaching qualification. Training activities consist of a series of exercises and routines that are designed not only to improve your overall fitness but in particular your upper body strength, along with hand/eye co-ordination and heart and lung functions. The exercises can also help in body weight control when linked to a healthy eating programme.

The intention is to enjoy yourself whilst improving your fitness level, developing your self confidence and re-awakening ambition

When and where

claire2.jpgWe are currently based at the Oxstalls Campus of the University of Gloucestershire in Gloucester meeting on a Thursday evening from 6pm until 8pm.

We suggest that those considering the sport make contact with us to confirm our training schedule and venue and then come along for a month before committing to membership of £10 a calendar month. This figure includes your personal insurance, your registration with British Wheelchair Basketball and use of club equipment.
